Association of Women Committees for Social Work Discusses the Development Made in the Media Strategic Plan

Within the framework of "Enhancing Palestinian Women's Participation in Public and Political Life" program, Association of Women Committees for Social Work conducted a meeting to discuss the outcomes of the first phase of the media strategic planning process. The meeting was attended by all the parties that took part in designing the plan, General Union of Palestinian Women, and Women’s Affairs Technical Committee.
During the meeting, Ms. Shatha Odah, Researcher at Clackate Media and Communications, stated that "Enhancing Palestinian Women's Participation in Public and Political Life" program is an initiative one as it concentrates its work on a number of selected areas and considers, and has been considered by, the elected women in local councils as an example of women’s efficient role in politics.
The program is going to be carried out in ten localities in both Ramallah and Jenin Governorates. It aims at introducing the obstacles and challenges that hinder women’s participation in politics as concluded from leaders, policies, and public opinion. Also, the plan aims at arriving at likely prospects to be utilized.
It’s worth noting that "Enhancing Palestinian Women's Participation in Public and Political Life" program is funded by UN Women/FGE.
