Within an initiative to involve community in the work of local bodies and villages’ councils, ASCSW conducted two workshops with the committees of "Enhancing Palestinian Women's Participation in Public and Political Life" program. The meetings were attended by representatives of five villages in Ramallah and other five villages in Jenin. However, it’s worth mentioning that AWCSW has represented the initiative previously to the Ministry of Local Government to indicate the importance of involving community in the work of local bodies and villages’ councils. Also, AWCSW represented its community work that was done recently besides a set of success stories.
However, the committees represent villages located in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorates; namely, Beit-Sira, Kharbtha Bani Hareth, Beit-‘Ur, Saffa, and Kharbtha al-Misbah, as well as in Jenin Governorate; namely, Burqin, Fahme, Kufr Ra’i, and Al-Sila al-Harithiya. This step came to maintain a sustainable community participation to meet general development needs, particularly women ones.
However, "Enhancing Palestinian Women's Participation in Public and Political Life" program is funded by UN Women/FGE.
