It should be observed that domestic violence in Palestinian is influenced by multiple factors, as besides the traditional cumulative male-dominant social system, and the discriminatory laws, there is a severe shortage of anti-violence services, shelters and social support system in the country. Within this context, the violence perpetrated by the Israeli military forces contribute to the increase of cases. Although there is a significant lack of comprehensive and central data on violence. In this challenging context, AWCSW has adopted a broad range of intervention strategies, and approaches in creating sustainable structures in addressing the main obstacles preventing women realizing their human rights, and  take direct action to protect women’s rights when they are threatened. providing protection to women victims of violence, legal assistance and social support, and using awareness raising tools to address the root causes of human rights challenges and instigate long term change.
